machine dreams

self-made cape, Target tee, F21 skirt and jewelry, vintage tights, gloves, turban, and clutch
I designed this cape last spring and even though I had all the materials it's just been sitting around in my projects box collecting dust. Well, a bit ago I was in such a mood where I hated basically everything in my closet and from that (unnecessary) hatred came this. I finally sat down to sew until it was finished. It was really fast and easy and I'm kind of annoyed at myself for taking so long to make it. Esentially it's just four rabbit furs sewn together with lace panels in between and a ribbon closure but I love it because there are so many possibilities in how you can wear it!! So far I've discovered a cape, a pair of sleeves, two skirts, a scarf, and an exotic hat.

Saturday

i think i'm losing where you end and I begin

F21 jumpsuit and necklace, vintage coat, Micheal Kors wedges, second-hand bag
How have I lived this long without a jumpsuit? I had no idea what I was missing out on by not owning one for so long.
I went into Forever 21 with a leftover gift card from christmas intending to buy something along the lines of a great bag to use for two months then forget about in the back of my closet, groovy sunglasses, and some random jewelry. Instead I came out with this -which on second thought is probably better because I own far too many bags as it is, I found my dream shades years ago, and my jewelry collection is huge and I don't wear most of it. I intend to rule the world through my rockstardom so this is definitely a helpful acquisition! I have a shred of hope that it may last longer than the usual Forever 21 piece of clothing because the material seems like some unusually high quality fabric (at least for that store). The understated studs, the wide legs, and the buttoned shoulders are some really cool elements.
So into this song right now! Can't wait to see them live...

Monday

if this night could send a thousand kisses

Rodarte X Target sequined dress, F21 cropped vest, AA tank, vintage clutch and tights, Bumper heels
Thanks guys for all the awesome advice on the computer situation, I really appreciate it! I've now gone through and deleted tons of unnecessary stuff hanging out on the hard drive and plan on getting my own shiny new laptop soon. I was finally able to upload about two week's worth of photos though so posting will be back to normal in no time.
This photo was from earlier this month at my sister's birthday party. We went out with some friends for the most delicious all-you-can-eat polynesian buffet and ate ungodly amounts of pot-stickers, fried rice, and kung pao chicken. I've had my eye on these shoes for an entire year and watched them slowly get marked down to the amazing steal I got them for. I finally ordered them before they went out of stock and they came the day before the party. I love the Balenciaga f/w 07 inspiration behind them. Originally wanted a pair in brown (those went out of stock) but I'm extremely happy with these. I literally went out about 2 hours before the party and picked up this beautiful Rodarte X Target dress. The store was nearly emptied out of the collection so I was really lucky to get this in my size! Better pictures of both coming soon.

Troubles

Ok, so I am about to burn a hole straight through the middle of this computer! I have plenty of outfits to share with you all but my pictures simply won't upload due to a severe lack of memory space available. Nothing will copy & paste and nothing will upload or download. I've intended to get my own laptop for a while now (the family shares this computer) but I guess that day will be coming a little sooner than I expected. So, because it has been way too long from NYE to have those pictures still up I'm just writing something new to tell you all what's going on. Please be patient, I hope this gets resolved soon and when that happens I promise posting will be back to normal! Thanks for reading!! -Niv

Saturday

Glitter on the wet streets

We had a little kick-back at the house for new years. No crazy parties or loud music but it was pretty fun! In the afternoon we all made party hats and masks and in the evening watched movies, played games, and toasted the new year with party poppers, kazoos, and cider! I went all black and gold this year; not on purpose, it just came together that way. One of my new years resolutions is to wear more jewelry because I have a ton but rarely use it. So I put on this amazing F21 necklace which I've never worn before. I literally just saw it on the rack and paid for it! I was happily surprised because I thought it was all connected and didn't realize it had that beautiful 'dripping in chains' look. Been itching for a reason to wear this sparkly vintage dress (worn as top) and finally found the perfect moment. Happy 2010 everyone!!! It's going to be wonderful....
vintage glittery dress worn as top, vintage men's blazer, F21 skirt and necklace, vintage bag, Michael Kors cut-out wedges (sorry for wearing these so much! they're my favorite pair!), and self-made party hat and mask
ps- thanks Ava for the lipstick! it's perfect!
